Pauline Baird, a doctoral candidate in the Rhetoric and Writing program, gave the keynote address for the Buxton-Friendship Heritage Fund meeting in Manhattan earlier this year. Her talk was entitled “Storymaking Practices of Buxton Women: Our Legacy, Our Pride, Our Responsibility,” and drew upon some of the work that will form her dissertation. Several members of the Department’s Rhetoric & Writing doctoral program recently facilitated writing workshops for students at St. Aloysius Elementary and Junior High School’s Write-To-Read Week.
Tina Arduini, April Conway, Ken Hayes, and Aimee Taylor, Brian Gattozzi (General Studies Writing), and Dr. Lee Nickoson led workshops on a variety of topics for grades 4-8, including Mrs. Brennan’s seventh grade class, who posed for a photo at the conclusion of a poetry workshop.
