Charles Kanwischer on “Real Estate Drawings and Recent Work”

Posted by bgsuenglish on October 13, 2008

Dr. Vicki Patraka, Director of the Institute for Culture and Society writes:

I wanted to encourage you to attend Professor Charles Kanwischer’s talk tomorrow at 2:30pm in the Mylander Room (207) in the Bowen Thompson Student Union on his current project, “Real Estate Drawings and Recent Work.” For several years he has made drawings depicting various conditions in a kind of real estate narrative cycle of  “empty fields about to be developed, houses under construction and demolition, houses newly built and longstanding, and empty home interiors signaling both departure and arrival.” While the project has always been timely, it seems especially so in the current environment. I’d love to see you there.
