Posted by bgsuenglish on April 2, 2008

The College of Arts and Sciences has arranged for Timothy Smith (Sales & Management ’65, MA College Student Personnel ’67), College of Arts & Sciences Accomplished Graduate to be available to discuss networking, post-graduation opportunity-hunting, and tips on making the most of a BGSU English degree.

Tim has more than 32 years of volunteerism experience with BGSU, and proves that actions truly do speak louder than words. In addition to currently serving as chairman of the Advocates Board for the College of Arts and Sciences as well as the Division of Student Affairs, Tim is also treasurer of the Medici Circle Board and a member of the President’s Club and President’s Club Advisory Board.

As a student, he was a member of student government, involved with University Symphony, Interfraternity Council and Phi Kappa Tau fraternity; he has since been honored for his ongoing support of BGSU’s Greek system and has also advised SICSIC and Phi Kappa Tau.

Tim is also president of the governing board at the Wood County Educational Service Center and a member of the School Board at Penta Career Center. He was named Outstanding School Board Member of Northwest Ohio in 2007.

Since retiring from Sky Insurance as senior vice president for business development in 2005, Tim has also been active in his church community, local economic development, and several foundations.

The event will be held in East Hall 219 (2nd Floor Library Lounge), 2:30-3:30 p.m., Friday April 4th. Refreshments will be provided.
