“All Freedom in Every Sense: The Work of Artist Lee Bontecou”

bontecou1p.jpgVisiting Lecturer in the Department of Art, Elizabeth Smith, who is James W. Alsdorf Chief Curator and Deputy Director for Programs at the Museum of Contemporary Art, (MCA) Chicago will be discussing the work of sculptor and artist Lee Bontecou in her talk “All Freedom in Every Sense: The Work of Artist Lee Bontecou” 6:30 pm – 8 pm on February 4, 2008, in the Fine Arts Center Building, Room 204.

Smith was the curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles from 1983-99. She has curated and co-organized numerous exhibitions, including Lee Bontecou: A Retrospective which toured nationally in 2003/4, and has published and lectured widely on topics in modern and contemporary art and architecture.
