Page Limits: Do They Stifle Creativity?

Posted by bgsuenglish on October 21, 2007

Kyle Whited of the Black Swamp Literary Society writes: “Does it ever frustrate you when you can’t write the number of pages your professor wants you to write? What about when what you have to say seems to go on and on, passed that “sacred” page limit you’ve been given?”

The Black Swamp Literary Society will meet on Monday, October 22 at 9 pm in the second floor East Hall lounge to discuss these and other questions relating to the idea of page limits in writing. Do page limits stifle creativity, or are they necessary? Dr. Allan Emery, Director of the Literature program, will be on hand to offer the faculty view point.
