Rhetorician Lisa Ede to Visit

Dr. Lisa Ede, Professor of English and Director of the Center for Writing and Learning at Oregon State University, will visit the Department on Monday, October 20. A reception for Dr. Ede will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the Library Lounge (East Hall 219), and will be followed by a 2:30 p.m. classroom visit with Dr. Rick Gebhardt’s English 780, Writing Program Administration class.
Dr. Ede has been a leading figure in the field for over thirty years, and her work on audience theory has served as a continuing touchstone for the discipline. Both General Studies Writing and the Writing Center are co-sponsoring Dr. Ede’s visit.
